CASE STUDY

Clarifying an AI vision in a Nordic SaaS company

CONTEXTS

A Nordic software company providing workforce management and access control solutions was seeing AI increasingly affect both daily work and future product possibilities.

Employees were already experimenting with AI tools, but the direction was unclear.

The leadership team wanted to explore how AI should support its strategy and future development.

CHALLENGE

The organization faced a familiar situation:

• AI experimentation was happening individually
• Understanding varied across teams
• Product opportunities were emerging but unstructured

The company needed a shared direction for AI.

SOLUTION

The company organized an AI Vision Workshops using the AI Pathway framework.

The sessions explored three perspectives:

  1. Personal relationship with AI
Participants shared how they currently use AI and how the technology is changing their work. Starting with personal experiences grounded the strategic discussion in real work.

  2. AI in the organization today
The group discussed current usage and key challenges.

  3. Future AI visions
Participants developed alternative directions for how AI could shape the company.

END RESULT

Three AI vision emerged
Participants explored three strategic directions for the company’s AI future.

Save – AI removes friction from everyday work
AI automates repetitive tasks and administrative work so employees can focus on insights, collaboration, and decision-making.
Examples included automated documentation, predictive insights from operational data, and unified system views.

Create – AI enables new customer value
AI helps the company understand customer needs more deeply and develop new services around those insights.
Examples included intelligent workforce planning, AI-assisted interpretation of labor agreements, and data-driven recommendations inside customer systems.

Break – AI reshapes the business model
In the most transformative vision, AI enables entirely new service models.
Products evolve into platforms where other companies integrate through APIs and ecosystem partnerships.

Result:
The workshop helped the organization:

• Create a shared language for discussing AI
• Identify three strategic directions for AI development
• Connect AI opportunities with product strategy
• Recognize the role of internal AI communities

Most importantly, the conversation shifted from scattered experiments toward a shared AI vision for the future.
